Bank Holiday January 2023: Banks will be closed for a total of 14 days across the country in the new year. Although many of those holidays are state-centric. That is, banks will be closed on that particular day only in the concerned state. Besides, all banks in the country will be closed on national holidays. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published its list of when and when banks will be closed so that customers can plan their bank operations in advance.

The holidays declared by RBI will be effective for all public, private, foreign, cooperative and local banks in the country. Although online and netbanking services on the respective days will remain normal on all days as on other days.
Incidentally, all bank holidays are basically divided into several categories. According to the ‘Negotiable Instruments Act’ of 1881, those sections are -Holidays Under Negotiable Instruments Act, Banks’ Closing of Accounts, Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday.
As a result customers can plan accordingly knowing those holidays.

Sunday, 1 January 2023 – All banks in the country will be closed on Sunday, as well as New Year.
Monday, 2 January 2023-
Aizawl – Banks will be closed on this day to celebrate New Year.
Tuesday, 3 January 2023-
Banks will remain closed due to Imphal–Imoinu Iratpa.
Wednesday, 4 January 2023-
Imphal – Banks will remain closed due to Gaan-Ngai celebrations.
Sunday, 8 January, 2023-
All banks in the country are closed on that day due to Sunday.
Saturday, 14 January 2023-
All banks will be closed on the second Saturday of the month.
Sunday, 15 January 2023-
All banks in the country are closed on Sunday.
