Buyers in India are charged for a number of extras after buying a car. Which includes registration charges and insurance. That is why there is a huge difference between the ex-showroom price and the on-road price of the car. In this situation, everyone wonders how to get discount on the price. Recently, Transport and Roads Minister Nitin Gadkari himself emphasized this way at the Auto Expo.
He mentioned a way through which it is possible to get a discount of up to 15 percent on the purchase of a car. Nitin Gadkari said that the Centre’s vehicle scrap policy can benefit both the consumer and the company. According to him, as a result of this policy, car sales can increase by about 24 percent. At the Auto Expo 2023, he said, “There will be a 10 to 12 percent increase in car sales in terms of scrap. Besides, the manufacturing company will also be able to reduce the cost of raw materials by 33 percent.”
He also said that those who scrap their cars must buy new cars. As a result, car sales will increase. Car companies should give discount on car price to buyers who show scrap certificate, suggested the minister. On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance is also trying to give a discount, he said.
Incidentally, under this scrap policy of the government, if one’s car is more than 15 years old, then it has to be scrapped. As a result, the government will issue a certificate to that customer. A tax rebate of up to 15 percent can be availed by showing the certificate while buying a new car within a year. But if someone buys a commercial vehicle, he will get a discount of up to 10 percent.
