Upcoming Madhyamik exam in the state. This year’s Madhyamik is going to start from 23rd February. Madhyamik will be conducted in about 2864 examination centers across the state. 40 thousand examiners will monitor the examination. Generally primary teachers are not in charge of secondary examinations. However, according to sources, primary teachers will be in charge of invigilation at rural secondary examination center of North Dinajpur district.

Many examination centers in rural areas of the state do not have sufficient number of teachers. As a result, schools face problems in secondary examinations. Such problems are faced by examination centers in rural areas of North Dinajpur district. Recently the DI of that district wrote a letter to the Board President Ramanuja Gangopadhyay about the related problems. He requested to solve the problem in the letter.

According to him, most of the 117 examination centers in Uttar Dinajpur district are located in rural areas and there is a shortage of teachers. This is known in the report of Madhyamik District Center Committee. Due to which problem is arising in giving guard for secondary examination also. After that proper instructions have been given by the Board of Secondary Education to solve the problem. According to the instructions of the board, the primary teachers can give guard in the secondary examination there.

The board said that this decision has been taken in special circumstances. In this case, in the words of the Board President, ‘it is absolutely a one-time exemption which is given only for this year depending on the situation’. Incidentally, not only North Dinajpur but many rural schools in the state are facing the same problem. It remains to be seen what measures are taken by the board in this situation.
