In 2019, the temple had 7.4 tonnes of gold. It has increased by 2.9 tonnes in the last three years.
Donation of Rs.1,200 Crores in a year: Devotees donate heavily to Tirupati Balaji Temple. It is the richest temple in the world in terms of donations. In 2018-19, the temple received a total donation of Tk 1,214 crore. In 2019-20, a total donation of Rs 1,281 crore came in. Also, in 2020-21, donations of Tk 731 crore came to this temple. Basically, devotees donate crores of rupees to this temple every day.
Fans donate hair: Devotees also donate hair to Tirupati Balaji temple. There is a belief about this temple that a person who renounces all his sins and evil deeds here, gets rid of all his sorrows. In such cases, devotees leave their hair here as a sign of their sins.
The darshan of the entire idol on Friday matches: The full idol of Balaji in Tirupati Balaji Temple can be seen only on Fridays. Devotees can have this darshan during Abhishek on Friday morning.
