Penny Stocks List: In the wake of mixed quarterly earnings from major corporations, Wall Street indices showed mixed market sentiment overnight. Asian indexes were mostly up, while Indian domestic indexes edged lower and fell sharply in opening trade.

All sectoral indices were lower, with most of them down more than 1%. Financial services, banking, power and real estate sectors were the worst hit, while metals and auto stocks fared well.

On the BSE, the advance-decline ratio was strongly in favor of declines, with 853 shares rising and 2,341 shares falling. There was significant selling pressure in broad indices and major indices underperformed. Shares of Bliss GVS Pharma, the top BSE smallcap gainer, rose over 9% on increased volume. Shares of Sharda Cropchem Ltd and Mahindra CIE Automotive Ltd were also bought heavily.

At 10:45 am, the BSE Sensex was down 1.04% at 60,345. The Nifty 50 index fell 1.07% to 17,924 levels. On the Sensex, Maruti Suzuki, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Steel were the top gainers, while State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank and Ultratech Cement Company dragged the market.
