India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 every year. The Constitution of India came into force on this date in 1950. Stock exchanges BSE and NSE as well as commodity exchange MCX will remain closed on the occasion. Bond and foreign exchange (forex) markets are also closed on Republic Day. There are total 15 holidays in 2023 as per NSE and BSE holiday calendar. First on the list is Republic Day. After Republic Day, there will be a stock market holiday for Holi on March 7.

In fact the stock markets in India are open every day of the week from Monday to Friday and the stock markets are generally closed on Saturdays and Sundays except for special trading sessions.
