Incidentally, the second interim dividend was declared by the company last September 2022. Interim dividend of Rs 8 per equity share was declared.
The board meeting of the company on January 9, 2023 has decided to pay the third interim dividend, the company said in a BSE filing. Accordingly, a dividend of Rs 8 per share and a special dividend of Rs 1 per equity share of Rs 67 have been declared. The dividend will be paid on February 3, the BSE filing said. The interim dividend and special dividend will be paid on the same day. Those whose names are in the list of equity shareholders or as shareholders in the depository records of the company on 17 January 2023 will be considered eligible for the dividend.
TCS has paid out Rs 33,297 crore as dividend to its total shareholders in the current year so far. Incidentally, dividend is declared by the company every half depending on the income of the company. Also, the final dividend is declared annually. And special dividend is declared from time to time.
For the December 2022 quarter, TCS reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 10,846 crore, up 11 percent on a year-on-year basis. During October-December 2022, TCS’s revenue grew 19.1 percent year-on-year to Rs 58,229 crore. Which is promising for the company. The company’s operating margin stood at 24.5 percent during October-December 2022, a decline of 50 basis points (100 bps equals 1 percentage point) from last year. Its net margin stood at 18.6 percent in the quarter.
TCS’ total dividend per share for the December 2022 half stands at Rs 75. And special dividend declared at Rs 67. The list of next dividend recipients will be known on January 17, 2023 and will be given on February 3.
